Enjoying our little girl and practicing as planned

Roman is enjoying his new role in life as a father but his preparations towards next races are going according to schedule. Today he left for Italy to put in a four-day training block, he is also planning to go into altitudes.

“After the Classics and my crash at the Liege I took a couple of days off. I needed that to get myself together. Now I am back on training track in line with my plans. I started slowly because my next racing action at the Tour de Swiss is still a long way off.”

While awaiting the birth of his daughter in Pilsen he had a short training stint in Italy near the Garda Lake. Now he is returning to the largest Italian lake again. “I will come back home next week and on Sunday I am going for an eleven-day training camp in high altitudes. My teammate Tosatto will be there with me and maybe someone else from our team will join us as well,” said Roman.

He is really enjoying his new role as father. “Our little girl is really good. When I come back from a training ride I try to help out Míša as much as possible but at night she is the one who gets up because she knows that the most important part of my season is coming up and I need to be free of distractions. I am practicing in the same way as before the birth of our baby, nothing has changed in this regard.”
