Roman has to put off his start into the upcoming season. He was supposed to ride the stage race Tour of Sardinia but it was canceled due to financial problems. Roman will put another camp in Calpe on his agenda instead and he will kick off his race season with the one-day race Clásica de Almería.

Roman has become an uncle this morning. His sister, who is married to the famous Czech cross-country skier Martin Jakš, gave birth to a baby-girl Šarlotka. “Congratulations to them and I wish the little one all the best,” said Roman from the training camp in Calpe.

The first race in which Roman is taking part – the Tour of Sardinia - is just around the corner. Logically, his preparations in the warm environment are oriented towards getting in his best shape possible at the beginning of the season.

Far from the crowds, Roman continues in his preparation for next season with his teammate from Astana Gasparotti on the Gran Canaria island. Today he went for the first hard ride in the mountains.

Roman is getting serious about his training at the beginning of the year 2012 as he is traveling to Canary Islands for another camp early Wednesday morning. He will be preparing for the next season in Gran Canaria until January 18.
